At the Christchurch Court to-day WUilam Vivian Whitta, charged with publishing betting information, pleaded guilty. Defendant had 12 previous convictions, and was fined £lO and costs. The third trial of John Alexander McKinnon, on charges involving complicity in the Customs frauds of 1912, was commenced at the Christchurch Supreme Court this morning, and the hearing is proceeding.
