LURKING PTOMAINE GERMS.

IN SHELL FISH. Electric Telenrach—Press Association. Rawerr., Last Night. A native, named Kaua To Rangi, residing at the Ketemarae Pa, Normanhy, died on Sunday morning as the result of ptomaine poisoning! He had taken a crayfish. At the inquest on Tuesday Dr. MaeDirmid stated that ptomaine germs developed very quickly in hot weather and it was dangerous to partake of shell fish unless it was perfectly fresh. Crayfish and mussels were particularly liable to be affected. He urged natives to l)o very careful. He gave evidence that the cause of death Was ptomaine poisoning and a verdict was returned in accordance with the medical testimony.
