PARLIAMENTARY GOSSIP.

AN INTERESTING DAY. PRODUCE SHIPS AVAILABLE. (By Telegraph.—Soecia.l Reporter.) Welington, This Day. Yesterday ns an interosing day in Parliament. First there was the Prime Minister’s statenint that there would be no postponement of the general election. Now that the uncertainty ns to the date lias been removed it. may bo expected that party warfare will lie resumed in earnest, and probably the last has been seen of tlie so-calied “truce.” Another interesting but regrettable phase of yesterday’s sitting was the unfortunate incident between the At-torney-General and Mr Russell, who made unconiplimenary remarks about each other. Mr Massey advised both members to withdraw their expressions, lint whilst Mr Hordman took this advice and withdrew his statement. which was obviously not intended to bo taken literally or seriously. Mr Russell did not follow the good example, but contenlod himself with saying that lie bad made no personal reflection on the Minister. The Premier states that arrangements can l>e made for sufficient sliijvs with refrigerating space to take all the season’s produce Home. The Committee appointed to deal with the matter lias been granted ten da vs’ extension of time. The Lands Committee, in reporting on the question of tenure of Education reserve lien sex, recommends that, legisntion be introduced providing for uniform tenure for tenants of such leases.
