ADVERTISING MEMORANDA.
A clearing sale of household furniture will be held on behalf of Mr F. Punch, at the residence, Mangatainoka street, on Wednesday afternoon. This is the fruit-spraying season. On page 4, Mr R. V. King, chemist, quotes the prices of various preparations for the speedy extermination of orchard pests. “Sweet are the uses of advertisements,” quoth Longfellow or Harry Lauder, or one of those fellows. In any case since the “Centre” advertised their now spring openings they are able to declare that the somnolent, state of trade (due partly to the European crisis) has disappeared, and much interest is now being evinced in millinery and drapery departments at this popular house. Mr Evans extends an invitation to Pahiatua ladies to visit his showroom. FORD CARS. One hundred and twenty-one different lines of business in the Dorn hi ion are now using from one to thirty-three Ford cars for commercial purposes. The Ford Motor Company does not make a rommereial oar, but business firms of all kinds buy tbe Ford and adapt it to their ipes. the larger proportion being list'd by salesmen eovoring both urban and suburban territories. Many fanners in the Pahiatua district own n. Ford car. Thev praise them for their comfort, reliability, reasonable price and economical runnin g. It costs verv little for repairs to the Ford. Afr A.
