The quarterly summoned meeting of the Rochabitos’ Lodge will be held to-morrow evening. Tho eye is described as the window of the mind. In the Presbyterian Schoolroom this evening, Mr 0. E. Hugo, character expert, will deliver another of his instructive and entertaining lectures, •‘Eyes,” being the subject chosen. Admission will be free.

A pleasant evening is assured all who attend the senior cadets’ social in the Drill Hall this evening. The cadets, with commendable spirit, havo organised the function with the view of assisting the Patriotic Fund. Patrons will have their pleasure catered for in first-class style, and the cadets are anticipating a large attendance. It is reported that the proprietors of the Tararua Cheese Factory, Reliance, havo sold a large portion of the new season’s output at 6Jd per lb on trucks at Pahiatua. Prior to the sale the suppliers met at the request of the proprietors, to discuss in what manner the output should bo disposed of. Tiro Manga'rama Cheese Company’s output is being sent Home on open consignment. Japan is at Kaio-ohau, but real Jap. crepes are at Evans, in white, ’cream, navy, rose, grey, fawn, etc., at lOd yard.
