THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.
( By Telegraph—Special Reporter) AVellington, This Day. The conference between the Prime Alinister and Leader of the Opposition regarding the date of the elections did not take place this morning, as proposed, owing to the absence of Sir Joseph Ward. It may be held this afternoon. It is stated that about two thirds of the Government party are in favour of holding the elections this year.
