TRADE ROUTES SAFE.

AVORK OF AUSTRALIAN NAVY. Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. Sydney, This Day. Air Milieu, in a statement reviewing the operations of the Australian squadron, said the vessels were acting in co-operation with the Chin? squadron, and the search for the enemy’s cruisers had been prosecuted and wireless stations in the Pacific put out of action. The operations also included the covering of the New Zealand expeditions and the seizure of Samoa. In attending first to the requirements of the sister Dominion Australia had showed a disinterestedness that would certainly be appreciated by New Zealand. After referring to the capture of German possessions in New Guinea, New Britain and Bismarck Archipelago he said the operations still call for some detached work before it was complete. He added that the trade routes are now safe.
