WEDDING BELLS.

TO.AIBS—AIEXTED. A wedding in which considerable in_ * fcerest was manifested, took place at i St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Pahiatua. to-day, Air P. AA’. Tombs, of 1 Hastings, being united in holy matrimony to Aliss Zoe Alexted. youngest daughter of Air and Mrs T. 'Mexted, of Pahiatua. The ceremony, which , was performed by the Rev. J. B. Brocklehurst, vicar of St. Alattherw’s, I Hastings, assisted by the Rev. L. H. Fenn, vicar of St. Peter’s, Pahiatua, was witnessed by a large gathering of relatives and friends. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked winsome in a dress of silk crepe de chine. handsome lace over-dress, court train, lined with pale pink ninon, relieved with orange blossoms and pearls. She also wore an embroidered tulle, and carried a prayer book. The chief bridesmaid was Aliss Halliday, of Alakairo. who was dressed in maize brocaded eroline, trimmed with shadow lace and pale pink j roses. The other bridesmaid, Aliss Eileen Lynch, of Palmerston North, cousin of the bride, wore a dress of apricot pink brocaded eroline, with shadow lace and roses. Both young ladies Wore hats to match and carried shower bouquets. The bride was also attended by three little girls. Alavis Collins and Beyrl Thornley, of Palmerston North, cousins of the bride, and Sybil Arrow, niece of the bride. The two first-mentioned wore apricot pink satin dresses, with silk lace over-dress: pearl caps. The latter wore silk crepe de chine, with pale trimmings, and a Alaltese laoe cap. Each carried a shepherd’s crook, decorated with cream satin ribbon and pink hyacinths. The bridegroom was supported by Mr C. R. ,S packman, of Napier, as best man. and Air H. S. Alexted (brother of the bride) aotas groomsman. Wilton, Palmerston North, aunt of the bride violet costume, with black and violet hat to match; Mrs E. AA. Oollms, grey costume and hat to match; Mr.- A AA . Hamilton (Hastings), maize messaliue frock, with drapuigs ot shadow lace and a tagel straw hat, trimmed with large silk roses and pansies; Aire -A. AA’eston, black silk tussore dress, hat, with crinoline pale pink roses, ostrich tips; Miss Fowler (Palmerston North), dainty periwinkle, blue sponge cloth, arid white hat. Ihe church was decorated for- the occasion with spring flowers. The I nuptial hymn, “The Voice that Breathed O’er Eden,” was sung as the bridal party entered the church, and the “Wedding March” was also played by the organist (Miss Allen) at the conclusion of the ceremony. Subsequently a large number of guests sat down to the wedding breakfast, laid out in a marquee on the lawn at “Rilsdale,” the residents of the bride’s parents. The marquee was very tastefully deoorated with white tulle, maize and pale pink flowers.
