Wellington Land Board Election TO CROWN LEASEHOLDERS JADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— JL Having, at the request of a number of Crown tenants, accented nomination to a vacancy on the Wellington Land Board, I respectfully submit my candidature for your esteemed support. 1 am a practical farmer, and have had considerable experience in all matters pertaining to land' settlement. being the holder of a section of originally Crown land, which a few years ago was all standing hush, and which 1 have now all cleared, grassed, and .subdivided and brought to a successful issue. I am an ardent advocate of land settlement, and am in absolute sympathy with the small settler, knowing full well the disabilities arid difficulties with which farmers have to contend. particularly as regards reading facilities, education difficulties, etc. While the functions of the Land Board should at all times be entirely removed from political influence, I feel that its members should possess a practical and sympathetic knowledge of the requirements of small settlement, and use their best effort, to administer the Act without fear or favour, and in full sympathy with settlers where their wide discretionary powers permit. The present representation on the Land Board is in. the hands of gent’eme®, all of whom are resident in the northern portion of the district. As the Wadrarapa has now a vorv considerable area under the jurisdiction of the Wellington Land Board, and a further large area is lining surveyed for settlement, it is felt that representation by one in touch with these lances and resident in the lower portion of the Bound’s district is desirable. T therefore respectfully solicit your consideration for your fo'low farmers, and should you favour me with votir support, it will Ik- my earnest endeavour to give full time and unfailing attention in the interests of all tenants under the Board’s jurisdiction. -Yours faithfully, T. 0 HAYCOCK. “Homeburn,” Martinborough. April. 1913. UAO.D, LODGE PAHIATHA, No. IK THE next Lodge meeting will he on THURSDAY, June 5. at 7.30 p.m. 1. W. WILLIAMS, Secretary.
