Air E. C. Cox left this altcrnoon for Wairoa (H. 8.). Air F. W. Wilson, formerly of Pahiatua, has purchased a general store ia Gisborne.
Air and Mrs A. Weston were passengers by the express to-dav lor Hastings.
Air S. R. Dobbie, oi Pahiatua, will act as judge at the Dannevirke horticultural show.
Dr. Wilson, of Wellington, is acting as locum tenons during Dr. Dawsou's absence at Napier. Mr Walter Richardson, late of Richardson and Co. ,is now iu business at Taneatua, Bav of l’leutv.
Mr Larsen, of Haunui, has acquired Alessrs Kent and AYavies’ farm. Air Davies left Haunui las week for Sydney. Air Harry Cole, who has been in business in Masterton for some years, is leaving shortly for Pahiatua, iu which district he lias acquired a farm.
Mr A. Smith, who has been transferred from the Pahiatua branch of the’ Bank of New South Wales to Palmerston, left for the latter place this afternoon. Mr Geo. Peebles, who is now manager of the Hon. J. D. Ormond's Woodville property, has been re-elect-ed chairman of the Woodville Domain Board. Aliss O'Meara, who has been transferred from Masterton to the Pahiatua telephone bureau, was presented by the staff of the office with a gold brooch as a mark of esteem. Mr Geo. Konst, who lias been manager of the Scarborough creamery of tho Hallaiice Dairy Co. lor the past two years, has resigned his j*ositiou. The suppliers intend tendering a social to Air Keast at the schoolroom on Thursday evening. Mr J. H. Escott, M.P.. returned to AVoodvill© on Saturday. The Examiner says he is very disgusted with tho squabbling over the Payne business, and is anxious that the Govemn cut and Opposition should conic to grips. Air Escott left again lor AA’ellington yesterday. At the recent teachers' examination hold in Masterton. Mr Kenneth Holdiiwny. son of Mr C. Hoklaway. of Bi.llance. was successful m passing 1> grade examination. Air Holdaway leaves for Christchurch to-morrow, where he wil pursue studies at the Christchurch College. At a meeting of the F.kotaluina Foresters Bn*. F. AA'ise. l’.C R., was presented by O.R. Bro. Syversen, with a silver-mounted oak tray in recognition of his services as turv for the past fourteen years. Bro. A. Smith, who is leaving the distr was presented by P.C.R. Redding with a (KH-kot-hook. Mr AY. AYilkic. formerly of Port Ahuriri, Napier, who recently purchased the Kaitana Post Office store, has been notified that the gold star for twenty-live years' service m tin* fire brigade is now due to him, and ready for presentation at the 1'.F.8.A. Conference, which commences at Rotorua on Saturday next. Air AA’ilkie will aoeonipany Captain ('. E. Clifton (deb gate for the Pahiatua Brigade). They leave Pahiatua for Rotorua on Friday next.
