CESSION OF CONGO.
SENSATION IN FRANCE. Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. Paris, Last Night. In the Senate, a sensation was caused by the production of telegrams showing mat 51. Jules Camboa received instructions from Jl. Cruppi, suggesting the cession of Congo territory, without the knowledge of die Cabinet or Prime .Minister. 51. Cruppi has written to President Caillaux, denying the authorship of the telegrams. (Received this day at 10 a.m.) Paris, This Day. The Committee of the Senate is making further enquiries respecting the cession of Congo. 51. Cruppi, 51inister of the Interior, declares that the instructions whereou 51. Jules Cambou, Ambassador at Berlin, relied referred exclusively to economic and commercial questipns. 51. Cambon’s despatches imply that the German 51inister of Foreign Affairs was the author of the idea. France is following the subject with intense interest.
