Air Justice Edwards and a jury are occupied in the Supreme Court with an action for bleach of promise brought bv Lelia Dinan, aged 32 years, a domestic servant, against John Pearce, aged 31, builder, claiming £BO special and £S(TI general damages. Plaintiff's statement is ■‘o tile effect that defendant courted Iter for nine years, and at the end of a six years’ engagement broke it on 1 the ground that he was suffering from disease of the heart. The ease is proceeding. Auckland, This Day. The jury, after a short retirement, brought in a verdict for £250 general damages and £2O special damages.
