ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin. April 12. Mr Charles Howells, auctioneer for Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. at Invercargill, was thrown from a trap at Edie’s Hill, on Moa Flat, Tapanni road, owing to the brake not acting. He sustained fatal injuries. Napier, April 12. Whilst a party were returning form Napier to Wanganui in a motor car on Sunday, they met with a mishap near Pakipaki. The car was overturned and the occupants were thrown out. Mr T. Boswell Williams had a leg broken. The others escaped serious injury. Wellington, April 12. Fred. Styles, son of Mr Styles, bootmaker, Moleswortli street, who is employed by Mr Warren, butcher, Moleswortli street, met with a gun accident while shooting at Porirua yesterday. Another boy, who was with him, fell, and liis gun went off, sending the charge in the direction of Styles, who received a few pellets in his legs at the oack of the knee. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
