PAHIATUA STOCK MARKET.
Alessns Abraham and Williams, Limited, report having held their weekly sale of live stock in Pahiatua yesterday. The number of sheep which came forward was only up to the average of recent sales, but there was a better yarding of cattle, for which there was a good demand. Alost of the sheep were quitted, and all the cattle we re sold with the exception of a few pens of heifers. Quotations:—Ewes (mixed ages) in lamb 9s 3d. two and four-tooth wethers 9s Id, fat wethers 10s lOd. good lambs (is (kl to 7s (kl, others 3s to ss, Romney rams ljgs to 2gs, fat and forward cows £3 to £3 ss, store cows £1 His to £2, cows and calves £2 8s to £2 15s, heifers in calf £3 7s (kl. empty heifers 27s (Id. 21-year steers £3 to £3 ss. 18-month steers £2 11s. weaners 16s to 20s. A first-class guaranteed dairy cow brought £B. and hulls £1 12s to £2 ss.
Messrs Dalgety and Company. Limited, report oil their Pahiatua sale as follows: A fair yarding of sheep and cattle came forward, but the attendance was limited. Competition was fairly keen. AVe quote: Slieep: Lambs 6s 6d to 7s 4d, ewes 4s Id to 4s (kl. Cattle: Fat cows £2 iT>s to £8 2s 6d, heifers in ealf to £2 LAs.
