METHODIST CHURCH ANNIVERSARY’
The anniversary services in connection with the above were held yesterday, when, although the weather was anything but favourable, there were good congregations. The Rev. Mr Alaslin corducted the morning service and the Rev. AY. H. Speer the evening. A strong choir, under the baton of Air J. J. Boagey, rendered Monk’s “If you love Ale keep My commandments,” Mozart’s “Gloria,” and Dr. Leslie’s “The Lord is my Shepherd,” Air J. AVilliams -inging the tenor solo in the latter, his fine tenor voice being heard to advantage in this beautiful solo. Alisses A. and C. Bottoniley took the duet.
A concert in comu-ction with tlie.se services will be given in the church on Wednesday, when a really good programme of songs, etc., will be given by leading lccal talent, besides a number of glei-, choruses and anthems. Refreshments will also be provided at the close of the concert.
