Stemson of Feilding. against Freda Clara Parsons, ot Parkville, daughter of Mr Thomas Parsons, chairman cf directors of the New Zealand Farmers’ Dairy Union, claiming £250 damages, will be heard at the next sitting ot the Court at Palmerston. Messrs G. Marley and A. Reeso were the presiding justices at the Court this morning when an application was heard for a re-hearing m the case of M. McDermott v. E. Macdonald, judgment having been given last Court day. The application was dismissed, with costs amounting to 14s Od. A. Moncrieff v. John Beaufort, claim 12s 3d. Judgment was given for plaintiff hy defa’ult for the amount claimed, with costs (os). The meeting in connection with the formation of a Literary and Debating Society, held Hast night, was only very thinly attended on account of the inclement weather. Commendable interest was manifested in the project by those present, and it was decided to adjourn the meeting for a week, ill order to give an opportunity for all who are interested to be present. The meeting will he held in St. Paul’s schoolroom next Weunesday night.
