Mr Eddie, Makomako, brought into town on Saturday a beautiful specimen of tlie Duke of Albany potato, grown on his farm. He says that he experimented with tlie Beauty of Hebron, Northern Star and Duke of Albany last year. All three kinds were grown alongside each other, but the Beauty of Hebron and Northern Star crops were a failure, while the Duke of Albany proved a great success, only a few potatoes being lost. Mr Eddie informs us that lie has planted an acre with these tubers this season, and he will be prepared to supply seed for next season. Arrangements have been made for a sample oi last year’s product to be exhibited in Mr Oxley’s window, and we would recommend all persons interested to make a point of seeing the exhibit.
