DAIRY PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs Griffiths and Company, New Plymouth, ure in receipt of the following market report, from their London principals, Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dati-d 3rd August: HITTER. Yesterday and to-day there has been a quiet tone to the market and some Russian butters have been sold cheaply, more for financial reasons
than anything else, so far as we can judge. There is generally a quiet market just before the bank holiday, but we cannot see any reason for reducing prices and we look for a better trade the end of next week. Danish: Clearing, but buyers are a little more particular as to quality. French: This is very cheap, and buyers continue to send increased orders. The make is now, we should say, past the flush, and we may confidently expect better prices in the near future.
Irish continues firm, and is selling well, as the quality is very fine. Russian and Siberian: Demand not quite so good this week, and some sellers have taken lower prices in order to clear. Australian: The small arrivals coming to hand are very useful indeed, as the quality generally speaking is line. The prospects for tne coming season are exceptionally good. Canadian: Prices are well maintained, and as long as the quality continues fine we look for a ready clearance.
New Zealand: The few stored butters which were offering last week are now practically cleared. CHEESE.: i No change to report and prices re--1 main unaltered.
