PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. Dunedin, Alay 29. The criminal sittings were resumed to-day before Air Justice Cooper, when Alfred Walker Cooper was found guilty of stealing money. Sentence was deferred. William Hornby and Thomas AlcXamara were acquitted of a charge of stealing rabbit skins, the jury finding that there was not sufficient evidence of identification of the property. The skins alleged to be stolen were valued at £29, and it was shown that accused had sold skins to the value of £69. Invercargill, Alay 29. The Supreme Court was opened today by Air Justice Denniston, who congratulated the jury on the practical absence of crime. On liis last visit there were no criminal cases, anil now only two—the one against a Chinaman for wounding with intent, and the other against tvo youn ; men for breaking and entering. Aen Choy, for wounding with intent by shooting another Celestial, with whom he had a dispute over money, was found guilty and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment.
