The Minister of Agriculture made an emphatic statement concerning the Commerce Act and the regulations just framed under it. He said that Queensland looks upon the matter as of such serious moment, as an infringement of State rights, that the Government, as soon as they are in possession of a copy of the, regulations, intend to make such representations as may lead either to the exemption of Queensland from the operations of the regulations or secure such mollification as to bring the provisions into line with our requirements. Queensland is the only State that insists upon grading all butter exported beyond the Commonwealth.
