A copy of the same circular was also received by Capta'n T of the Pahiatna Rifles, f- -a r-’ad-quartcra, and read hy him *- the members of the corps at pa-ode last. He spoke of the prop-'*a, as being an excellent one. and asked j members to let him know as soon as possible if they were willing to reengage on the conditions mentioned in the eircnlar, so that he eon 1J apprise headquarters aoo .-d-ngly. Captain Toss-will also stated *hat he had been reqnested to take over the command of tho Pahiatna Cadets, as had been done in some places. He spike of the necessity -f encouraging the cadets as fr -n their ranks thi volnr.teors of the fntnre wonld come. They wonld. 1 wever, have to make themselves thoroughly amendable to discipline under the j new conditions. He wonld. how- | ever, consult his brother 'Ulcers, before taking notion in the v.-ittor. Captain Toss will also „; t -d that a tender had been accepted for the erection of portion of the dr : ll shod. \ meeting is to he held in Captain Tosswill’s office on Tuesday evening next to consider the quest-on of completing the erection of -hi drillshod.
