ADDINGTON MABKET, At the Addington market on Wednesday there was a full yarding, and a large attendance. The 289 fat cattle entered provoked keen competi tion, and the prices were increased. A lot of North Island steers made £9 10s to £l3 17s 6d ; others, £8 15s to £lO 17s 6d; heifers, £8 12s 6d to £9 15s. The fat entry of sheep was larger than usual. The quality was good to prime and fair, a number being out of wool. Bidding was strong—especially for shorn sheep, and prices were well maintained. Wethers, in wool, good to prime 25s 8d to 28s Id, a few extra to 80s, others 21s 8d to 24s 2d ; ewes, good to prime, 25s Id to 27s ; others, 21b to 24s 7d ; shorn wethers, 18s 8d to 28s 8d; ewes, 14s 3d to 21s 6d; merino wethers, in wool, 19s to 25s 6d ; ewes, 17s 9d. Lambs —By far the largest entry of the season, but owing to export buyers not competing, prioee dropped. Prime 17s to 228, others 13s 9d to 16s. There was a very large yarding of pigs. Baconers were easier ; porkers and Btores sold well. Baconers 42s 6d to 57s 6d, equal to 4d to 4£d per lb ; porkers, 28s to 88s, equal to 5d to 6£d per lb ; stores, large, 25s to 80s; medium, 18s to 245; slips, 14s to 18s; suckers, 8s to 13s.
LONDON MARKETS.
London, November 3. At the tallow auctions 1241 casks were offered and 394 sold. Fine mutton realised 28s 9d, medium, 25s 6d. Fine beef sold at 27s 3d, medium 255. In stock 7998 casks, imports 5476 casks, deliveries 6356 casks. Napier, November 4. The C.C. and D. Company have received the following cable from their London office There is a fall iu the value of North Island mutton. To-day’s quotations are : Canterbury mutton, Napier, Wellington and North Island, 3£d ; lamb, first quality, 5Jd ; second, 5Jd. Beef— Hinds, 3d ; fores, 2Jd.
