RAILWAY ACCIDENT IN THE MANAWATU GORGE.
THREE NARROW ESCAPES,

Woodville, November 5.
When tbe special show train was entering the gorge last night an accident occurred at the sharp bend near the first tunnel. The train was travelling at a fair speed, and the car riage platforms were packed with people. A sudden jolt threw a boy named Thomas, a girl named Travers, and a young mau named Cade off tbe train. Fortunately all fell clear, and escaped w.th severe cuts and bruises. We learn that the little boy Thomas was cut about the head, that tbe girl Travers had a severe .-halting, King rendered msensible tor seme time, and that young Cade sustained au abrasion on the forehead and slight injury to bis shoulder, all having nairow escapes from more serious if not fatal injuries.
