News from New Gurnet states that between sixty and seventy natives were shot down, and about » dozen othir3 captured and executed in connection with the recent ma3sacre of missionaries. Tbo ringleader, Tomari, was among those shot down in the mountains. He died hard, and exchanged several shots with the police bofore be was mortally wounded. Fighting side by side with him was bis aged mother, and after the fight was over her body was lound alongside that of ber son.
