A CHARGE OF MURDER.

Sydney, November 28. At the Criminal Court, Kerr, chief engineer, and Pengelly, second engineer of the steamer Ching Tu, were charged with the murder of a Chineao member of the crew in July last. The accused denied the charge After a quantity of evidence for the defence had been taken, the Jury intimated that they did not wish to hear any more, and they desireJ to return a verdict of not guilty. In reply the Judge said be did not believe the evidence of the three Chinese, and thereupon committed the three of them for perjury. In discharging the accused he said they left the Court without a stain on their characters.
