Grave Charges against a Teacher.
Pei Press Association. Christchurch, May 1. Tl i Education Board recently appointed a special committee to enquire into the charges against James .Mahoney, late headmaster of the Prebhedton School. The committee reports that the Prebbleton School Committee had made grave charges against Mahoney, who left the school on February 13lh, without giving the customary notice, and is beheved tc have left Canterbury. The parents of the children and others have been examined by the special committee and it, is alleged the teacher was guilty of grave improprieties. The committee is of the opinion be was quite ‘unfit to teach, control or associate with children. The Board adopted the report and aro sending a copy of the evidence, together with a rt I’lesl that Mahoney’s certificate be cancelled, to tbe Minister of Education.
