At the inquest on Busan Harriett Campbell McCallutn, Nurge Ogilvie, employed in the private hospital, deposed that when Dr Orpen arranged 1 for the admission of the deceased he said she was suffering from acute | gastritis. Witness called in Mr Allotu. J.P., on Christmas Eve. because she suspected something was wrong. Deceased said she would tell him the whole story. Inspector Hickson said he did not hear of the matter until the body w as about to be buried. The person implicated was >hcn clear off from the colony. He did not blame the nurse, hut thought the police should have been informed earlier. Mrs Garrett, Orpeu’s landlady, said the doctor left at one p.m. on Christmas Day. 11c told iter he was ■ going on a trip for his health, lie had been talking for some time about taking a trip. His departure was very sudden. Later. The inquest on the young woman McCalluiii was continued. Dr Hope Levis and Dr Pure has gave evidence. Constable Hutchison read the girlN dying depositions.
