THE VICE-REGAL VISIT TO TARANAKI.

There is glorious weather for the reception of the Governor, who arrived with Lady Uanfurly by special train at 11.15 a.m. They were met at the railway station by the Mayor (Mr Boy), and presented with an address. The Taranaki Bitlo Yolunt-crs formed the guard of honor, and the I law-era Mounted liitles the escort. His Excellency was entertained at luncheon at the Criterion Hotel at nooil by the Mayor. At 1.30 he laid the founds tiou stone of the Whiteley Memorial Church, and ut 3 o’clock lie is to open the Industrial Exhibition. The day is being observed as a public holiday, auil the towi is gay with bunting.
