THE “ EXCELSIOR ” WOOL PRESS.

In a district like l’uhiatua where a largo amount of wool is grown and whero so many small settlers are engaged in the industry, it is only right that such an article as the “Excelsior’’ wool-press, patented and manufactured by a local man, should be brought prominently before tho public. We would be loth to extol the merits of the “ Excelsior” wool-press were it not for tho fact that many of these have been in use in different parts of this and other districts and havo in every case given every satisfaction. Small wool growers who havo but few bales of wool every season will find in the “ Excelsior ” a press capable of pressing over 4cwt. of wool in one bale, which is only one man's work. The mechanical working of the press is simplicity itself, and settlers in need of a press would certainly be study ing their convenience and their pocket if they, before investing in one from elsewhere, were to call at Mr Scdcolo’s factory, next the Hutland Hotel, and inspect the “ l'.xcolsior.” Although having seen the press and having its different points explained, it would be useless attempting to explain its working by medium of pen and ink. Wo feel quite satisfied that a wool-grower being in need of a wool-press and having soon the •! Isior ” would not fail to invi The price Mr Scdcole has placid on them is £8 10s each, which figure places them by far the cheapest in the market. Wo must confess that it is incredible to us that settlers send far afield for a press and pay a bigger price for it when one cheaper and equal in quality may he purchased in the district.
