The Trades Council passed a resolution taking exception to the Premier's statement that the workpeople objected to the inspectors of the Labor Department receiving larger salaries than they themselves earned, and they deny it applies to Wellington. They cannot understand why any section of workers should be so contemptible as to attempt to bring all brandies of labor down to one level. A Musician's Romance. Auckland, This Day. The daily papers state that a young lady musician who toured the colony some three years ago was secretly married in Auckland. The marriage was kept Htnutly private, and this led to complications and the couple eventually separated at Nelson, the lady going abroad and the husband nettling down at Auckland.
