THE BAND CONTEST.
Wellington Again takes the Prize. By Telegraph.—Tress Association. Oamaru, This Day. The baritone solo was won by Doig, North East Valley, and the E fiat cornet by Buckley. Wellington ; E fiat horn, McKersey, North East Valley.
There was a crowded attendance at night to listen to the final selection, the result of which was:— Wellington Garrison 1, Kaikorai 2, Oamaru 3, Timaru 4, North East Valley 6, Wainiate 6. Tho decisiou was well received. The first selection was • Oberon ’ and the second from ‘ Meyerber.' The judge said Wellington was the only band that came near tlie proper conception of tho latter.
