A Lively Native.
Auckland, This Day. Mahuki, a disciple of Te Whiti, has been acting like a madman at his village near Otorolianga, and has been placed under arrest at Te Kuiti.
New Zealand Natives’ Association.
Wellington, This Day. The local branch of the New Zealand Natives’ Association had a discussion over athlication with other branches and the admission of women, which is allowed here but prohibited elsewhere. It was proposed to hold a conference on both questions, but the matter was ultimately adjourned. The Association placed on record a resolution emphatically denying it is in any way a political body. Messrs Seddon and MacKenzie were elected hon. members.
