Suicide at Danevirke. Danevirke, This Day. Ou Saturday evening Viggo Lykke, aged 18, a new arrival from Denmark, Hung himself in a cowshed at Tahoraite. The body was warm when found, but efforts to induce respiration failed. The toes were touching the ground and if lie bad straightened the knees it would liavo taken the strain off the rope Before he came here he twice attempted suicide by poison and hanging. Two Years’ Probation. Wellington, This Day. Crawford, who was convicted last week of sending a threatening letter to a woman with whom he had been living and quarrelled, was admitted to two years’ probation.
