LIGHT RAILWAYS.

The Gisborne League. BY mMIAPH.— CRESS ASSOCIATION. Gisborne, This Day. Tho East Coast Railway League intends to ask the Premier to receive a deputation to discuss the system of light railway construction as suggested by Mr Carroll. The League considers that in the interests of isolated districts the time has arrived when the system should be adopted without delay, and if lines cannot be built out of the revenue a loan should be raised for the purpose. The resolutions are to be sent to a number of organisations throughout the colony and to the members of Parliament.
