STOCK REPORT. Mr Matthew llei lry reports:— Sales for the week wore conducted at Pahiatuu and Palmerston. In the Pabiatua section the entry was chiefly composed of dairy stock, out ot profit and condition. These were totally neglected, and few of them disposed of, either privately or at auction. Ihe sheep forwarded were only fairly well competed for, but betoro the close of the day were mostly disposed of by private treaty. 1 lie attendance ot the public was quite up to the average. At Palmerston on Thursday, eeond-class dairy stock were also in evidence, indeed composed tho bulk of the entry, with the exception of a choice line of Polled Angus fat heifers. The sheep forwarded were i rvioeable lots, and mostly changed hands before the close of the day. The attendance was considerable, and ;. fair in!crest was manifested in marketable lines. Subjoined are quotations:— I’nbiii'.iia—Dairy cows, £8 ss; f. w. r.l Romney wethers, its Od to 11. ; cull wethers, (is; empty ewes, i; :;d ; hoggets, Us; cull do., Is lid. I'ulnif." No more striking proof of this is there than in the premier position held to-day by Walker’s Whisky— Always the some— Always the heat.
