Filibustering and Cuba. New York, August 81. A filibustering expedition left America for Cuba, it is stated to be the largest and best equipped expedition yet sent. Received 9.50 a.m. An Editor Transported for Life. Calcutta, August 81. Kishallar, the editor of the native paper Maharani published at Satara, in the Bombay Presidency, has been sentenced to transportation for life for writing seditious articles headed “ Preparations for becoming independent.” Harmalkar, publisher of the paper, was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment. Klondyke Goldfields. Ottawa, August 31. Mr William Ogilvie, the official Canadian surveyor at Klondyke, leports that 7,000 miners will face the winter at Dawson City, but says that the condition of the settlement limit provisions, and the work available is only sufficient for 2,700.
