MASTERTON NEWS.

The annual meeting of tho North Wairarapa Rifle Club wa* held on Saturday evening, when Mr Wyvern Williams was elected president and Mr J. Williams was re-elected aeoretary and treasurer. The balance-sheet showed the club to be in a good position. It was decided to open the season on October 2nd.
At the annua! meeting of the North Wairarapa Gun Club on Saturday night Mr E. Whatman was elected president and Mr T. Duncan secretary. The salary of the latter was increased. The trophies presented by Messrs J. Mandel and M. C. O’Connel were handed over to the winners. It was decided to hold one big match and, if possible, three or four small ones during the coming season.
Tho Rev. A. C. Yorke preached his farewell sermons in St. Matthews yesterday to large congregations. The local shareholders of the N.Z. Dairy Farmers’ Dairy Union have appointed Mr Isaac Sykes to attend the meeting to beheld at Palmerston North.
