There was a fair attendance for the luil-wiek match New Zealand v. next sixteen of Queentland, fine weather and a strong breeze. The local men were ont-matebtd in every department of the game. The team was too light in the scrums. The most conspicuous players on the local side were Gralton and Broad foot, who will probably win a place in Saturday's match.

The same may be said of Harris. Ailen, as centre three-quarter, was brilliant, while Humphries ciune nearer bis Sydney form. In the forward divi-ion lilair and Pauling got in griat work, and Smith's clever running materially helped bis side. The game resulted : New Zealand ... 29 points Queensland ... S ~ Sydney. July 20.
