A RUMOR CONTRADICTED. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —A rumor is ntloat in tho town that tho band would not head the children’s procession in connection with tho Record Reign celebrations held lu re. I wish to contradict such an absurd

rumor. The band was not aware that their services would bo required until Saturday, tho 19th, at noon, when owing to previous arrangements made by members of tho band it was impossible for them to turn out. The band has always been willing to give their services to any object, public or private, for tho entertainment of tho town or county public, and will continue to do so, but if

they do not get sufficient notice that their services will ho required they cannot ho blamed for not putting in an appouronce.—l am, etc., D. Mclnnks, soo. r.F.D. Duudi
