For all horses that have never won an advertised race ; minimum weight 12 stone ; entrance ss. —At 1.30 p.m. 3. Mile Handicap Trot (in saddle or harness at option of nominator) —For a trophy. For horses that have never won an advertised race; entrance 5s —At 1-45 p.m. 4. Orange Race—For a trophy. Each competitor to carry a plate of oranges on horseback over five-hurdles ; Committee to find plate and oranges; entrance 2s 6d.—At 2 p.m. 5 Maiden Hurdle Race—For a trophy. Once round, over 4 flights of hurdle 3ft Gin high; minimum weight 12 stone; entrance 59. At 2.20 p.m. 6. Hunters’ Hurdle Race For a trophy. Two miles, over 8 flights of huidles 3ft Gin high, minimum weight 12 stone (open to all horses only that have followed the Woodlands Hunt Club hounds this season to the satisfaction of the Master); entrance ss. At 2.45 p.m. 7. Sailors’Race—For a trophy. Quarter of a mile; competitors to ride on horseback tace to tail, barebacked; entrance 2s Gd. At 3 p.m. 8. Dismounting Hurdle Race—for a trophy. Over five hurdles, competitors to mount their horses, jump each hurdle, dismounting between each hurdle, both feet to be on the ground between each dismount; entrance 2s Gd. At 3.30 p.m. 9. Cigar and Umbrella Race—For a trophy. Each competitor to light a cigar, open an umbrella and gallop round post from right to left, and finish with cigar alight and umbrella open ; cigars and umbrellas provided by Committee ; entrance 2s Gd. At 4 p.m. 10. Consolation Dookey Race—For a trophy. Half mile; for all beaten horses, last horse to be declared the winner; nominators to ride each others’ horses, riders to be allotted at the post; no whip or spurs allowed ; catch weights. Post entry, 2s Gd. At 4.30 p.m. For all events one half the entrance fees will be given to the winner.
