Woodville District jockey Club.
The Secretary of tho Woodville District Jockey Club anticipates unusually good entries for the Now Year race meeting in consequence of not declaring the handicap until the 28th insfc., when the handicapper will have the results of all the race meetings which take place during Christinas week, including Ashurst, before him when making the adjustments for Woodville. This will dispense with penalties, which arc always considered unsatisfactory bv owners, and all horses engaged will be handicapped on their very latest performances. The weights will appear in tiie rooming papers of the ‘29th 1> -ember, which will give acceptors plenty of time to communicate their intention to the Secretary before 8 o’clock on Monday, Mist December. The racecourse is in splendid order, and the danger of horses running off or colliding with posts has been removed, the course now having a post and top rail fence right around. Given a fine day, this Club’s summer fixture should be the most successful yet experienced.
