Land Board.

The regular monthly meeting of the Land Board was held on Thursday. Present—The Commissioner of Crown Lands (in the chair), and Messrs AY. A. Fitzherbert and Fred Pirani, M.11.R. Mr T. AV. Fisher attended in the afternoon.

The following applications for titles were approved : —AY. Haigli, section 117. Block XYL. Mangaone; J. Clulow, section 18, Block 111., Mangaone; L. Bourke, sections ‘24 and *23, Block 11., Mangaone ; F. A\\ Lehndorf, section 10. Block \ T I., Puketoi; I>. Bourke. sections ‘2O and ‘2oa, Block XIA'., etc., Mangahao. Titles approved if conditions complied with ;—C. Lam berg, section 0, Block 1.. Mangaone ; F. Ilanhrok. section 17. Block 11., Mangaone. K. Locher, section 13, Block A IL, Tararua.

The following transfers were approved : - Heron, section 24, Block X\\, Mangaono. Transfers to be approved of, if conditions complied with : —A. Hansen to T. A. AVeston, section 175, Block XIII., Mangaone: J. Smith to K. Locher, section 13, Block VII., Tararua.

Applications to surrender accepted : J. Aitken, section ‘25, Block X\\. Mnsterton Reform Association ; J. Miller, sec tion 3, Block lA\, Pahiatua No. 1.

Application to mortgage approved ; Sections 144 and 211, Block VIII.. Kopuaranga; sections 17 ami *23, Block X.. Koitawn.

Mr Redmond waited on the Board to ask for time to complete improvements on sections ‘J and 20, Mangaone, and it was decided to get a statement of the value of the improvements nnddeal with the matter at next meeting.

C. H. Rasmussen was granted permission to take AY. Brown ns a partner for section 35, Block A’II., Taraua.

An application to enable Mrs Annie AYall to take over her lato husband’s section in the Pahiatua Association Settlement, made by Mr Gould, solicitor, wits agreed to.

John AYoadiok’s application for permission to transfer section 13, Block I A’., Tararua, on ncaount of physical disability* was held over to ascertain whether the Accident had happened after applying for tlie soction.

Mrs K. 'l’. Parker was granted a transfer of her late husband's section 24, Block I\\, Mangahao. G. and 11. N. AYinter applied to be allowed to surrender section B*2, Block IX.. Makuri, and be allowed the value of tho improvements. It was decided to offer the land for sale, weighed with the improvements as suggested.

The County Clerk of Pahiatua applied to the Commissioner for permission to cut totara on the Mangahao Reserve, and the action of Mr Baker in stating that the request could not lie granted owing to the reserve being gazetted for sale on sth December, was approved. Mr AY. AYelch, chairman of the Pal merston Forest Reserve Association, wrote in reference to tho recovery of the proportion of liabilities of tho Association payable on sections which aro transferred or forfeited. A short discussion ensued, in tho course of which members of tho Board expressed the opinion that it was unfortunate there was no provision to enable the request to be granted.

R. A\ . Duti’ul applied for time to pay rent on Section PJ, Block A IL, Makuri, and it. was decided to ask him to uame a definite date for payment.

Miss F.. M. Ilall forwarded her ex plana tion for non-residence on section 10. Block VIII., Mangahao, and thq Com missioner was empowered to deal with the matter.

It. was decided to give J. AYalther notice to appear before the Board and give reasons why section 77, Block Will,, Mangahao, should not he forfeited. It was decided that l’. L.
