Under the old system of conveyance by deed enor- , inous expense iu land dealings could hardly he avoided. Under the Act of 1880 the necessity for this no longer exists, and a lease, mortgage or transfer may now be effected for a merely nominal sum. To afford residents in this district the benefits ■ of the Act we have taken out a license, of which the following is a copy : The Land Transfer Act, 1885. I AND imOKEHS LICENSE. I N pursuance of the powers for this purpose vested in me under the Land Transfer Act, 1880, I hereby, with the sanction of his Excellency the Governor, license Reginald P.
