Napier, This Day. Bannister’s homestead at Mohaka lias been burned. An Application. Dunedin, This Day. Port Chalmers is applying for power to convert its loans L33,0Q0 in all, to 5 per cents. Explanatory. Wellington, This Day. As Mr Glyn’c statement contained in to-day’s cable messages from London relative to tho earnings of the estates company is liable to be misunderstood, it is explained that there should b© added to it “ after providing for interest at per cent on one million and a half of debentures.”
