Mr Montgomery moved tha second reading of the Industrial Conciliation Arbitration Bill. Those Councillors who had oppoaad the measure in previous years said they now accepted the verdiet of the oountry and would offer no further opposition to it. After several had spoken the debate wae adjourned.

The House resumed at 7.30. The delivery of the financial statement by Mr Ward occupied one hour and twenty - live minutes.
In reply to Mr Mitchnlnon, Mr Ward said the debate on the statement would not commence until Tuesday next. The House rose at 9.15 p.m.
