J An inter* sting case arising out of comment pasted by Mr Wade, solicitor for one of the publicans whose license was ref ised, came before two justices to-day, sn he whs charged on the complaint sf P'lwson, S.M., as cliairmnu of the i < n*mg ( ouunittee, with using insultng language. The words complained of "cm : •• Iw-fon /on separate, gentlemen, I should like to say you have been guilty of wilfully, wantonly and deliberately lutlicting u gross injustice, and those of vou who rue private business men will I irticuUrl v and undoubtedly suffer.'’ Ip defence was that the words were »i:d>ift i he business of the Committee had closed. The Bench said it would deal leniently, and imposed a fine of L2 Kis with :;t)s costs, in dt fault 24 hours’ imprisonment.
