The Muncipal Elections.
Up to the time of our going to pres* the election of Councillors for the three wards for the Borough of Pahiatua was proceeding very quitely. At no booth was there any rush of voters, and votes were being put on very slowly indeed. Most of the candidates were about the streets, prinoipallv talking in knots of twos or threes, and apparently making no effort* to urge their claims or influence ratepayers. Only one or two vehicles were being employed in bringing up dilatory voters and generally the election has been characterised by a snrprisiug lack of interest. It is expected however, that later on votes will he recorded much more rapidly. As far as we can ascertain the numbers of votes recorded up to the time of going to press were as follows : —West Ward, 30 ; East Ward, 23 ; South Ward, 31.
