I’l’om tho Examiner we clip the fof lowing ; —At tile monthly meeting held on Saturday week, it was proposed by Mr Crosse, that Mr Oreville having failed to carry out his arrangement, with the Board, they dispenee with his services as Engineer, and that the Board hold over any monies that may be due to him, until lie furnishes plans etc., for the works laid off by him for the Board, which he ii requested to do at one*, and that a of this motion be scut to Mr Greville. Seconded by Mr Franklin and carried. At this Stage of the meeting a note wae received from Mr Carroll offering to do tho Board’s works, also stating the terms on which ho could do tlie work. After considering Mr Carroll's offer, the Chairman proposed that it be accepted. Seconded by Mr Crosse and carried.
A letter was here received from Mr Harold Smith, solicitor, asking the Board to pay ovor the balance due on Mr Vine’a contract, also asking that if the Board still adhered to the proposal to deduct £l9, it should kindly supply him with the name of the Board's solicitor, who would accept service of writ. I‘roposed by Mr Crosse, that tho Board pay Mr Vine the balance due on his contract, lees the £lB, penalty for overtime. Seconded by Mr Franklin and carried.—Mr Vine refusing to sign the voucher, as tho £lB was deducted from the araouet due, the Board refused to give the cheque.
