Shocking Murder of a Bank Manager. Escape of the Assassins. (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.J Fer Free* Association. Sydney, April 18. Mr McKay, manager of the branch of the Commercial Bank at Barraba, 58 miles from Tamworth, was shot dead at noon to da* by two armed men. Very few particulars are to hand, and it has not been ascertained whether any money has been stolen. Both men escaped, hut search parties have gone in pursuit of them. LATER. Mr McKay was shot through the head. Tho tvo local policeman were absent from towu when the affair happened, but while returning they met the two murderers on the road riding haru. At that time they were not aware of the tragjdy and consequently paid very little attention to the men. Received 7 p.m. Sydney, April 19. The Government has offered a reward of £4OO for the capture of the two men who shot McKay, the bank manager at Barraba.
