Pahiatua Athletic Society.

Committee Meeting. A meeting of the Committee of the Pahiatua Athletic Society was held on Friday evening, the President (Mr A. [ Black) in the chair. A letter was read from the Pahiatua Football Club requesting the use of the Society*B ground for the season. Messrs Skinner and Lewis waited on the Societya id< putaftion from the Foolball Club, and offered X‘s for the use of the ground for ihe season, provided the Society put it in order. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Black, seconded by Mr Moore, that the application bo granted. It was further resolved, on the motion of Mr Briggs, seconded by Mr Black, to call for tenders for the removal of all stones on the .round, and the President and Messrs Moore and Knight were appointed a committee to givo effect to the resolution. With regard to tbe protest against Mr Bagley, who won the old men’s race at the sports meeting on the 22nd of January last, Mr Moore gave the result of hi enquiries and the protest was upheld, the prizes to be awarded to Mr CL Yule (1) and .J. Jessop (2). Mr D. Knight’s offer of X 4 for the right to graze sheep on the ground was accepted. it was decided to realise on unalloted prizes and place the proceeds to the oi edit of thi Sock ly. The meeting closed with a vote of ; thanks to the Chairman.
